Meet the Team
Care you can trust, from a team that feels like family
With Dr Michael Silagy, you're never just a patient. You're welcomed into the care of a close-knit team who genuinely know and support each other, and who bring that same warmth to every woman who walks through our doors.
Dr Michael Silagy leads a small, dedicated team built on trust, experience and a shared belief that every woman deserves personalised, respectful care. Michael works hand-in-hand with his practice manager (and wife) – Lucy, and midwife – Jemma, to ensure that from your very first phone call to the moment you welcome your baby, you're supported by people who are genuinely invested in your journey, not just professionally, but personally.
Dr Michael Silagy
Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Michael believes that exceptional obstetric care isn't delivered by one person alone, it's the result of a team working together with a shared, woman-centred philosophy. He has built his practice around exactly that: surrounding himself with people who share his commitment to listening, educating and empowering women through every stage of their pregnancy and beyond.
Michael's approach is collaborative by design. He works closely with Lucy and Jemma to ensure continuity of care, so that whoever you speak to, on the phone, in the waiting room, or in an appointment, you feel informed, respected and confident that your care is in safe hands.
Lucy Silagy
Practice Manager
Lucy brings warmth, compassion and a strong healthcare background to her role as Practice Manager. Before joining the practice, she worked as an adult speech pathologist and is now pursuing her own dream of becoming a midwife.
As Practice Manager, Lucy oversees the day-to-day running of the clinic and makes sure every patient feels welcomed and supported from their very first contact with us. She loves getting to know the women and families who come through our door, whether that's a phone call, a chat in the waiting room, or simply taking the time to learn each person's story.
Being a mother herself, and now studying midwifery, has given Lucy a unique and deeply personal understanding of women's health. These experiences have only strengthened her passion for educating, guiding and advocating for women, so they feel informed, respected and empowered in every decision they make.
Like Michael, Lucy is fiercely woman-centred and passionate about supporting women at every stage of their journey. She's committed to creating a calm, caring environment where women feel seen, heard and confident in their care, through every season of life.
Family is at the heart of everything Michael and Lucy do, as husband and wife, and proud parents to their two wonderful boys, Henry and Louis. That same family-first values shape the way our whole practice cares for yours.
Jemma
Midwife
As a passionate and dedicated midwife, Jemma believes that knowledge is power, and that every woman deserves to feel informed, confident and in control throughout her pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. Her goal is to empower women and their families through education, support and evidence-based care, helping them make the decisions that feel right for them, every step of the way.
Jemma understands that becoming a parent is one of life's most significant transformations. A time of immense change, growth and self-discovery, where having the right support can make all the difference. She strives to be a friendly, approachable and reassuring presence, offering guidance, encouragement and continuity of care throughout this important chapter.
Over the past six years, Jemma has worked across a range of public healthcare settings, gaining experience in both rural and tertiary environments. Her career has included caring for women in low-risk maternity services, supporting families in high-risk settings, and working alongside Special Care Nursery (SCN) teams. She has also held education-focused roles, mentoring midwives, students and novice staff as they build their skills and confidence.
More recently, Jemma has become a mother herself, an experience that has deepened her understanding of the physical, emotional and practical realities of pregnancy, birth and the transition to parenthood. While every journey is unique, becoming a mother has further strengthened her passion for providing compassionate, individualised care, and helping women feel heard, respected and empowered throughout their experience.
Jemma is incredibly grateful to be working alongside Michael and Lucy, where together they can offer women and families the time, personalised care and continuity of support that can be difficult to find in busy public healthcare settings. She looks forward to walking alongside you and your family, helping you navigate your journey with confidence, knowledge and compassionate care.
